A Special Needs Ministry

Engage! exists to express the love of Christ by serving and supporting families with special needs, both within the church and in our surrounding community.

  • We want to ENGAGE! with those in our congregation and our community who have special needs and abilities so that we can come together, interlocking into one as the body of Christ.

  • We want to ENGAGE! those with special needs in a life-changing encounter with the kingdom of God.

  • We want to ENGAGE! in making our church campus physically accessible to those with special needs.

  • We want to ENGAGE! in offering quality online and outreach resources for those who cannot attend in person.

  • GloryKids (Kindergarten - 5th Grade)
     

    G.L.O.R.Y! (Glorious. Loving. Outstanding. Redeemed. Yes, We Can.) Kids mission is to provide the least restrictive environment possible within our children’s programming for our kids with special needs.

    Buddy Program

    We provide buddies so that these kids can attend the same programming that other kids do, at either the 9:00 or 10:45 am services. Please register prior to attending so that we can arrange for a buddy.

    Sensory Room

    We provide a sensory room for those who need to take a short break from the group programming, whether for sensory seeking or sensory soothing needs. Buddies accompany the child to the sensory room.

    Self-contained Classroom

    We can provide buddies in a self-contained classroom for children that are medically fragile or may not benefit from being in a large classroom setting.

  • Teens (6th - 12th Grade)
     

    We provide adult or peer buddies so that these kids can attend the same programming that all our teens do. You must register prior to attending so that we can pair you with a buddy.

    Middle School Life
    Sundays, 4:30 - 6:00 pm, August - May

    Middle School LIFE is our weekly middle school discipleship program for grades 6-8. We gather in small groups on site, watch the talk and discuss. Learn more →

     

    Sunday Night Watershed 
    Sundays, 4:30 - 6:00 pm, August - May

    Watershed is our weekly program for students in grades 9-12. Learn more →

     

    WASH
    Wednesdays, 6:00 - 7:30 pm

    High School WASH is a time where students in grades 9-12 connect with peers and Christ. Learn more →

  • Adults
     

    We offer an Engage! Women’s Class and an Engage! Men’s Class at the 9 am service for young adults and adults with special needs. These classes feature a short interactive video teaching time followed by a variety of “hands-on” sensory activities that reinforce and illustrate the lesson in fun and engaging ways. Advance registration is required.

  • Parent Group Connect
     

    Have a family member with special needs? Bring your family and join us for supportive fellowship, fun, and food. Meets the second and fourth Sundays each month from 4:00 - 5:30 PM at the home of Kim & Daniel Forester. Email Kim with any questions, or to get started.

  • Donate
     

    ENGAGE! Ministry is approved (via Perimeter Church) to raise money for special needs. This applies not only to fundraising from businesses, but from individuals, who can now designate tax-deductible gifts to the ENGAGE! Ministry. These funds will be critical as we expand and enhance the ministry to bring more members of the special needs community into a life-changing encounter with the people and the kingdom of God.
